1st Line Support Engineer required by global IT Solutions provider based out of Bracknell. This role will be based on the technical Helpdesk joining an establish team. This is an entry level role and will suit a graduate within an Information Technology related discipline or someone with some commercial experience. The successful 1st Line Engineer will answer and log technical support calls for a variety of networking and security products. You will gather information in conjunction with the client to investigate and isolate the fault, be it hardware and/or software, escalating faults beyond their experience or knowledge to the 2nd and 3rd line teams. This role comes with full training and the chance to gain technical qualifications paid for by my client. Your responsibilities: Answer calls and e-mails to a professional standardMaintain accurate and up-to-date call records (tickets) using the call record and progress systemKeep a regular call schedule, updating clients on open ticketsPerform repairs to equipment and follow procedures as laid down to ensure correct and safe operational repairsComplete accurate and detailed hand-over to other engineers of any calls and tasks in progressAttend formal and informal workout sessions to enhance knowledgeBe available to work as a member of the support desk team working in the Bracknell office on a 24 x 7 rotating shift system; includes weekends and some bank holidays Required profile: Essential: Use of Windows and computing technologyAwareness of networking technologiesBasic knowledge of the Internet and Internet Protocols Desirable: CompTIA Networking CCNAJunOS EssentialsAccreditation F5 This role pays a starting salary to £18,000 p/a raising to £20,000 p/a after a 4 months. You will get an initial 25 days holiday, a pension and healthcare to name but a few.
