    • The Oxford Bariatric Service OBS is a well-established, specialist bariatric centre with a focus on offering excellent patient centred care. The service continues to grow and develop to meet the needs of our complex patient group. We are a relatively small cohesive team which values a collaborative approach and each member’s specialist knowledge. We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual who enjoys working within a team and is committed to patient centred care. This role offers the opportunity to learn new skills and to work within a team who are committed to promoting continual personal development. Although some experience of working in a bariatric service is desirable we would offer training to the right candidate. The successful candidate will work closely with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Specialist Dietitian in Nurse/Dietitian-led clinics and patient workshops both pre and post bariatric surgery. You will be a core member of the multidisciplinary team meetings, liaise with other hospital departments and provide support to other dietitians. You will possess excellent communication skills in order to offer patients a variety of support e.g. telephone appointments, email, patient support group, workshops and face to face appointments. You will also be expected to contribute to audits and should be interested in research opportunities. The Acute Team is made up of approximately 50 Dietitians, 5 Dietetic Assistants and administrative support on all sites. There are 7 acute clinical teams, each responsible for providing a service to an identified clinical area across all four acute hospitals in Oxfordshire, namely, the John Radcliffe, the Churchill, the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre and the Horton Hospital. We work closely across all four hospitals and community teams with staff and patients moving between them, shared CPD opportunities and joint meetings. All staff are actively involved in student training.
