    • Job Description Working Pattern:  Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm, Friday 7:30–3:30pm A vacancy has arisen for a Facilities Assistant post within West Dunbartonshire‘s newly built Kilpatrick School.  Kilpatrick School is a specialist establishment providing education from birth to 18 years of age for approximately 150 children and young people with additional support needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operation of the Facilities Management service within the establishment and contribute to assisting with customer contact processes, including complaint handling and resolution ensuring a responsive approach. The successful candidate will promote and reinforce a strong customer focused, responsive, flexible ‘can do’ culture throughout the Facilities Management service. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a combination of duties with a flexible day to day variable need this will include: the supervision of Facilities Operatives and monitoring of cleaning standards taking action as required to address any areas of under-performance, the operation of the heating plant and associated systems including the operation of the hydrotherapy/swimming pool, key holding responsibilities including security of premises, cleaning duties and porterage and food handling. The post holder will be required to adhere to food safety systems of work and health and safety legislation, previous knowledge or experience in this line of work may be beneficial. The successful candidate will be required to attend any training courses and attain any relevant certification required to carry out the role. The successful candidate should be able to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Requirements This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
