Strode College is a Further Education College in Street, Somerset. Located on a well-resourced modern campus, the college works with 1,500 16-18 year olds, a high proportion of whom are studying advanced level programmes, as well as 2,500 adult students and 450 apprentices. Strode College was judged ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted in September 2014. We are looking to appoint to the following vacancy:
Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment
Full Time (37 hours per week)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (dependent upon skills and experience)

Reporting into the Principal and CEO, you will have the opportunity to help shape the marketing strategy and student recruitment activities for the College.
Strode College has a very strong core market as a sixth form college and has made excellent progress in growing its Higher Education, Adult, Professional and Apprenticeship routes. To support our continued growth, we are seeking to appoint a new Head of Marketing and Student Recruitment.
The post-holder will play a key role in planning all marketing activity and events that aim to maximise student recruitment to all courses at Strode College and will be an experienced manager with either a strong marketing and/or student recruitment background.
You will be responsible for strategic leadership and management of the college’s marketing and student recruitment activities, including the development of a robust and high quality marketing strategy that identifies how the College should build on its current position, capitalise on new digital marketing opportunities, target and capture new markets and ensure a cohesive approach to sales and marketing.
Ideally you will have an understanding of education and an appreciation of the complexities of this market. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build strong and positive relationships with both internal and external customers is paramount.
The main duties of the role include:
Lead on the marketing, student recruitment and communication strategy for the College.
Lead, manage and motivate a dynamic team of marketing and admissions staff, inspiring them to continuously develop, innovate and deliver outstanding customer service.
Create, develop, lead and execute an annual integrated marketing plan using relevant market research to inform activities and strategy resulting in wider market awareness and student recruitment.
Direct and oversee all promotions, publications, media relations, social media etc. to increase Strode College’s visibility, brand-awareness, reputation and engagement, and ensure strategic marketing draws together all communication elements in a consistent way.
Coordinate the promotion of the ‘Strode College brand’ by increasing public awareness of the College and its programmes, services, and opportunities through targeted marketing activities/events with prospective student groups and other key stakeholders.
Collaborate with all staff from across the college to develop a deep understanding of college programmes and services in order to persuasively market to targeted student, and employer populations.
Develop and build on existing and new partnerships and relationships to help champion the College as an outstanding provider of high quality education and training.
Provide leadership, expertise, and creativity.
Focus the College’s web and digital presence as a tool for marketing, recruitment, student services and business processes with a focus on recruitment and retention.
