Musculoskeletal DirectorateDepartment of Trauma ⩔thopaedicsJunior Clinical Fellow CT LevelBased at Morriston Hospital, The Trauma ⩔thopaedic Department at Morriston is looking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellow.The successful candidate will participate in a 1:12 on-call rota. The successful applicant will be given time and resources to pursue and complete a research project during their time with the Health Board.The Health Board is the largest in Wales, and one of the largest in the UK. Launched on 1st October 2009, following a merger between the former award-winning Swansea and Bro Morgannwg NHS Trusts, we employ around 16,000 staff, and have an annual budget of more than £770 million. The Health Board has four major hospitals: Morriston and Singleton in Swansea, the Princess of Wales in Bridgend and Neath Port Talbot in Baglan.Morriston Hospital itself currently has 850 beds, the majority of which are housed in modern accommodation, which has been built since 1981. The range of specialist services provided at Morriston Hospital currently includes Renal Medicine, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Welsh Centre for Burns and Plastic Surgery and the second Cardiac Centre in Wales. We cover a population of about 600,000 people, covering Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, and the western Vale of Glamorgan. In addition, our specialist services cover much wider areas of Wales. There are active Postgraduate Medical Centres at Morriston Hospital and the other hospital sites within ABM University LHB, with full programmes of activities. There are also comprehensive Medical Libraries at all sites managed by Chartered Librarians who are pleased to give advice.The Department offers a wide variety of Orthopaedics including special expertise in Trauma, Joint Arthroplasty, Paediatric, Rheumatoid, Upper Limb, Foot &Ankle, Hand Surgery and Spinal Surgery. Morriston Hospital also houses the regional Cardiac and Burns &Plastic Surgery Units.This post is not recognised for training.
