What we can offer you: Varied work load across all areas of elective and trauma theatre. We develop staff to provide rotational positions in 2 areas of Operating Department Practice of their choice Anaesthetics, Recovery and Scrub enhancing the multi-disciplinary team. A number of dedicated Educational/Training mornings identified throughout the year and an excellent IT facility to support with on-line training. The opportunity to advance in different specialties by encouraging rotation and developing new skills. The opportunity to undertake Leadership and Management courses. A dedicated team of Educational Practitioners who are focused on delivering a meaningful and achievable educational programme. Theatres are leading the way in Robotic Surgery and is recognised as a Worldwide Centre of Excellence. The Trauma ⩔thopaedic team work across 9 theatres on 2 levels and support 29 Consultants &Fellows. They are a pro-active group that is implementing a ‘Surgeon Led Teaching List’ to enable junior members of the theatre and medical teams to develop their skills further. There are 27 modern, state-of- the- art theatres across 2 floors which undertake elective, emergency and trauma work for both Adults and Paediatrics. In addition, we provide Maternity cover for 2 theatres and remote support for Radiotherapy, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, MRI and CT procedures. The specialties include: General Surgery Upper GI, Colorectal, Breast &Endocrine, Plastic surgery, Urology, Vascular, Gynaecology and Renal including transplant, Head &Neck ENT, Ophthalmic and Maxillo-facial Trauma and Orthopaedic. We are looking for: Skilled Elective Orthopaedic Practitioners with experience in major joint surgery. Skilled Practitioners experienced in complex Trauma. Open and adaptable candidates looking to learn new skills and keen to develop their career. Registered Nurses / Operating Department Practitioners who are flexible in their working approach. Ability to demonstrate forward thinking and problem solving. Applicants must be able to work weekends and there may be a requirement for rotational night duty in the future.
