Are you looking for a working pattern that suits your commitments? Could you make a positive difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities? We have vacancies for Relief Support Workers in your area, to support Adults with learning disabilities. This means you will work shifts as needed when our regular staff are on holiday, on sick leave or during other periods of additional need. We will pay you on an hourly rate basis for the time worked, and shifts offered can include days, evenings, nights and weekends. There are also some sleep-in duties, for which we pay £35. They have a dual diagnosis of learning disability and mental health needs. You will help us to provide day-to-day support around cooking, cleaning, work and college placements. We also support the men to keep up with the leisure activities they enjoy, which include swimming, cinema, boxing events, football and fishing. About you We welcome people with previous experience as a care assistant or similar, but this is not essential. If you are a caring, creative and patient person then you have the qualities needed for this job, and we will provide all the training, day-to-day assistance and back-up you'll need. Some of our tenants have a forensic history, so you must be able to follow support guidelines accurately. You will need good communication skills, both verbal and written. All permanent opportunities would be open to you as a member of our Relief Register. Around 20% of our roles are filled through transfers and promotions of current MacIntyre staff. The closing date for this position is: Thursday 14 September 2017. Interviews will be held shortly after applications have been received and shortlisted.
