University of Glasgow College of Science and Engineering School of Engineering Research Assistant Vacancy Ref: 019105 Salary: Grade 6; £28,098 - £31,604 per annum. You will contribute to a project “High Energy Density Capacitors Manufactured with Optoelectronic Tweezers (CapOET)” working with Dr S.L. Neale at the University of Glasgow and in collaboration with Prof Lee Cronin also at Glasgow and Prof Jason Riley at Imperial College London. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in micro/nanofabrication techniques, nanodielectrics and energy storage in capacitors. The project will involve assembling metal nanoparticles into patterns using micromanipulation techniques such as optical tweezing, optoelectronic tweezing and dielectrophoresis. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
