Home-based personal care workers
14 hours per week, including weekends. Introduction: To support a young lady with M.E. (aka Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), and also anxiety. The role is to promote her confidence and assist with daily living tasks to allow her to live as independently as possible. Person specification: For some of the personal care tasks (bathing / washing hair) female will be required, but for all other tasks any gender is fine. Caring nature, empathetic, friendly. A car driver with their own car would be preferred, but this isn't essential, so don't worry if you're not. Must have an understanding of confidentiality. Tasks are as follows: Personal care: Help with bathing / washing hair in the morning, help me brush my teeth and wash my face. Nutrition: Preparing my meals. Remind me to eat and drink as I forget. Mobility: Taking me to appointments and social activities. Other support tasks: Support me with ordering my food via online supermarkets and help with putting food away. Support me with my admin, e.g. helping me open my post (encouragement). Support me with domestic duties, e.g. change bedding and carry it to washing machine. Any other request I may reasonably make. Previous experience desirable but not essential, as training is available. Because my M.E. is a variable condition, my needs may vary, but PA must be prepared to carry out all tasks if necessary. Thank you.
