An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Switchboard ℜception Team at Bedford Hospital NHS Trust. Ideal candidates should be well-organized and hardworking, with excellent communication and administrative skills”. They should have knowledge and experience of using Unify Formerly Siemens Realitis DX ACWin/DSWin Operator Consoles and Telephony Equipment or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience of large switchboard PABX systems. Although this would be an advantage, this is not essential as training will be given to the successful candidate. What about the department I will join? The Switchboard Service is based at Bedford Hospital Southwing site and provides services to the Bedford Hospital Northwing; it is the nerve center for one of the largest acute healthcare providers in Bedfordshire. It handles on average 5,000 to 7,000 calls per day and is a busy and exciting environment in this central location. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication, prioritization and initiative skills, along with attention to detail. The ability to work in a pressured environment is essential. Although we have a very strong learning and development function, we appreciate you will need to have acquired some skills and experience from your career that you will require in order for your time with us to be a real success. However we have highlighted three of them below Ideally a minimum switchboard experience of 3 years working within a large organisation. Working knowledge of Microsoft office, including word, excel and outlook. Good educational standard of at least GCSE level C in English &Maths. Want to know more? A modern Accident and Emergency Department includes a 6-bedded observation ward. The Critical Care Complex provides both High Dependency and Intensive Care beds to a maximum capacity of 12 beds.
